MATISTOTELES® HALLOWEEN 2026

HIDE YOUR FACE. SHOW US YOUR HALLOWEEN.

International Photography Competition

One photograph. Your interpretation of Halloween. A face nobody gets to see.

Create something mysterious, terrifying, surreal, elegant, funny, or completely unexpected. Show us Halloween through your perspective.

GRAND PRIZE: €250

The voting stage and €250 prize require at least 10 accepted eligible photographs. If fewer are accepted, the competition ends without voting or a prize, as set out in the Specific Conditions.

FREE ENTRY · WORLDWIDE  (SUBJECT TO LEGAL RESTRICTIONS) · 18+

SUBMISSIONS: 2–5 NOVEMBER 2026

VOTING: 10–15 NOVEMBER 2026

Both stages close at 23:59 Central European Time (CET) on their respective final dates.

THE CHALLENGE

Create an original Halloween-themed photograph featuring at least one person whose face is hidden.

You can hide the face using a mask, costume, object, hair, clothing, shadows, or creative framing — or by turning away from the camera.

Face paint or make-up alone does not count as hiding the face.

Costumes and surroundings are equally important ways to express your idea. Create an extraordinary character, find an extraordinary setting or combine both.

Professional equipment is not required. Smartphone and camera photographs are equally welcome.

Generative AI is prohibited. Standard photographic editing is allowed, but you must not generate or replace elements of your photograph using generative AI.
